Immunizations and Medications:

For up to date information regarding required and recommended immunizations, go to the CDC website.

Many shots are available through your family physician.  You can also contact a clinic that specializes in vaccinations for international travel (ex. Passport Health). 

Nairobi is not considered a high risk area for malaria, but we spend the majority of our time in Rongo, about 5 hours away from Nairobi.  It is recommended that travelers that venture outside of Nairobi take medication to prevent malaria.

Yellow fever vaccination is only required if you are entering Kenya from a country that has Yellow Fever. However, the CDC does recommend this vaccine for those traveling to the area around Sam's Place.
